This program is one of Malaysia’s most prestigious educational initiatives, specifically designed to produce competitive Bumiputera human capital on a global scale.
Young Talent Development Programme (YTP)
The YTP is a scholarship sponsorship program in the form of a Convertible Loan. It covers funding starting from the Pre-University (Foundation/A-Levels/etc.) level through to the First Degree, both locally and abroad.
What makes this program unique is that it is more than just financial aid; it is a talent development ecosystem that prepares students to become professionals in critical fields.
Application & Assessment Process
Interested candidates must undergo several screening phases:
- Online Application: Submitted through the official MARA MyEduloan portal.
- Psychometric Test: To assess the candidate's inclinations, personality, and mental stability.
- Interview/Assessment (VET): A communication session to evaluate leadership qualities and critical thinking skills.
Basic Requirements
While detailed requirements are announced each time applications open, the basic criteria you should be aware of are:
- Bumiputera Status: The applicant and at least one parent must be Bumiputera.
- SPM Excellence: Achieving Grade A (A+/A/A-) in core and elective subjects according to the chosen course.
- Age Limit: Open to teenagers aged 19 and below.
- Personal Character: Possessing a good disciplinary record and active involvement in co-curricular activities.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
- The applicant AND at least one parent (mother OR father) must be a Malaysian Bumiputera citizen.
- Parents OR guardians must NOT BE BLACKLISTED or currently facing any legal action from MARA.
- The applicant must not be receiving financial assistance or sponsorship from any other sponsoring body or agency for the same level of study.
SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS
- Sitting for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) examination for the first time in the current year.
- Meeting the PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS as advertised.
