30 June 2025 marked a significant milestone for EDUMi / AGRA as they engaged in a high-level strategic meeting with YBhg. Dato' Zulfikri Bin Osman, Director General of MARA. This engagement underscores the ongoing commitment to enhancing educational pathways for Malaysian students through strong public-private partnerships.
The primary focus of the discussion was to reaffirm the role of EDUMi / AGRA as Program Coordinators in supporting MARA with the implementation of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and other essential professional programmes. These initiatives are critical in producing a high-skilled workforce capable of meeting international professional standards.
Expanding Horizons into TVET and Irish Higher Education
Beyond professional accounting certifications, the meeting explored potential future collaborations in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET). A key area of interest involved establishing linkages with higher education institutions in the Republic of Ireland.
The Republic of Ireland is globally recognised for its practical, industry-aligned TVET and technological education systems. Collaborating with Irish institutions would allow MARA students to benefit from:
- International Benchmarking: Aligning Malaysian vocational training with global best practices.
- Advanced Technology Transfer: Exposure to cutting-edge technical expertise in sectors such as engineering, biopharmaceuticals, and information technology.
- Student Mobility: Potential exchange programmes or degree completion pathways for Malaysian TVET students in Ireland.
A Commitment to National Talent Development
This strategic engagement reflects a continued commitment to strengthening partnerships between industry players and government agencies. By working closely with MARA, EDUMi / AGRA aims to support the national agenda of advancing education and developing home-grown talent that is ready for the future economy.
The collaboration highlights several key goals for the 2025/2026 academic period:
- Strengthening Professional Pathways: Ensuring that professional certifications like ACCA remain accessible and well-coordinated for MARA-sponsored students.
- Empowering Youth: Providing diverse local and international education pathways that cater to different academic strengths and career aspirations.
- Quality Assurance: Maintaining high standards in student support and programme coordination to ensure successful student outcomes.
We look forward to building impactful collaborations that expand access to quality education. Through these efforts, Malaysian students will be empowered with the skills and global exposure necessary to thrive in an increasingly competitive landscape.
