Study Abroad Strategies: EDUMi.my and MUAFAKAT MARA Guide Students and Parents Together
A strategic collaboration between EDUMi.my and Badan Permuafakatan Pendidikan MARA Malaysia (MUAFAKAT) was realised through MUAFAKAT Academic Talk No. 24, titled 'Study Abroad Strategies'. The live-streamed programme focused on holistic preparation for SPM leavers, pre-university students and Diploma graduates planning an international academic journey.
The session featured EDUMi.my leaders, including Chairman Major (R) Mahadi Shukor RMAF, Chief Executive Officer Associate Professor Dr Abdul Rahman, and Chief Technology Officer Dr Ameer Adeeb. Members of the Overseas Ground Support Services team also shared first-hand perspectives on student life abroad.
The discussion addressed choosing an appropriate course and destination, managing university applications and student visas, preparing finances, adapting to culture and accommodation, and building support networks overseas. It also highlighted the importance of parents and students reaching informed, realistic decisions together.
