On 28 August 2025, EDUMi.my had the privilege of visiting the Perlis Special Teens Centre (PeSTeC) for a meaningful engagement session. This visit marks an important milestone in our efforts to foster collaboration and build stronger ties within the community to support inclusive education in Malaysia.
The engagement served as a platform for the EDUMi.my team to conduct fruitful discussions with the dedicated educators and staff at PeSTeC. The dialogue focused on exploring future cooperation aimed at empowering special needs teenagers with improved access to educational resources, vocational skills development, and community-based support programmes.
Fostering Inclusivity and Skills Development
PeSTeC plays a vital role in nurturing the potential of students with diverse abilities, ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive both academically and socially. During the visit, EDUMi.my was inspired by the centre?s unwavering commitment to providing a holistic learning environment. Key areas identified for potential collaboration include:
- Educational Resource Sharing: Leveraging digital platforms to provide accessible learning materials tailored to the needs of special teens.
- Skills and Vocational Training: Exploring pathways for students to gain practical skills that enhance their independence and future employability.
- Community Awareness Initiatives: Working together to raise public awareness about the importance of inclusivity and the rights of students with disabilities to quality education.
The Transformative Power of Education for All
At EDUMi.my, we believe that the transformative power of education should be accessible to everyone. True education goes beyond traditional classrooms; it is about creating inclusive pathways that allow every individual, regardless of their physical or cognitive abilities, to achieve success in life.
This initiative aligns with our broader mission as a Malaysia Digital (MD) status company and a spin-off of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM) to bridge the gap in educational access. By engaging with local centres like PeSTeC, we aim to create sustainable collaborations that uplift students and contribute to a more equitable education ecosystem.
Looking Toward an Inclusive Future
This visit to PeSTeC is only the beginning of a long-term journey. EDUMi.my remains committed to working hand-in-hand with educators, parents, and community leaders to shape a brighter and more inclusive future for Malaysia?s youth.
We look forward to developing impactful programmes that empower the students at PeSTeC, ensuring they have the tools and opportunities needed to reach their full potential. For more updates on our community initiatives and educational partnerships, please visit edumi.my.
