Malaysian Success Story to Ireland

13 September 2025 marks a significant academic milestone for another Malaysian student as he progresses to an international degree programme in Ireland. Muhammad Danish Irfan bin Norol, a Diploma in Business Studies graduate from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), has successfully secured admission into the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business (Marketing) at Griffith College, Ireland.

This achievement underscores the global recognition of Malaysian diplomas and the strength of international credit transfer pathways facilitated by EDUMi.my.

Direct Entry into Year 2 at Griffith College, Ireland

Based on his academic background and institutional recognition, Danish has been granted a Year 1 exemption. This articulation allows him to enter directly into Year 2 of the degree programme, which is scheduled to commence on 22 September 2025.

This pathway allows eligible Malaysian diploma graduates to shorten their study duration while obtaining an internationally recognised qualification. By skipping the foundation or first year, students can complete their honours degree in a shorter timeframe, significantly reducing overall tuition fees and living costs.

Institutional Support and Student Guidance

Danish?s progression was made possible with the support of EDUMi.my, a spin-off company of Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), in collaboration with Agra Edu Sdn Bhd. As a Malaysia Digital (MD) status company, EDUMi.my leverages its expertise to bridge the gap between local graduates and global institutions.

Both organisations played an essential role in guiding the application process and ensuring a smooth transition from Malaysia to Ireland. Their comprehensive support covered several key areas:

  • Application Preparation: Reviewing academic transcripts and ensuring all documentation met Griffith College?s entry standards.
  • Academic Articulation: Facilitating the credit transfer process to ensure maximum exemptions were granted based on the UiTM curriculum.
  • Pre-departure Arrangements: Providing briefings on visa requirements, accommodation in Dublin, and cultural expectations in Ireland.

Strengthening Malaysia-to-Ireland Articulation Pathways

This achievement highlights the strength of established articulation pathways between Malaysian higher education institutions and international partner colleges. It demonstrates how Diploma in Business Studies graduates from Malaysia can successfully:

  • Progress directly into overseas degree programmes at reputable institutions.
  • Reduce overall study time and total education costs through credit exemptions.
  • Gain international academic exposure and obtain a degree from a top-tier Irish college.
  • Enhance global employability and professional readiness by studying in an international hub.

Key Benefits of the Business Study Pathway

The collaboration between EDUMi.my and Griffith College offers several advantages for Malaysian business students:

  • Recognition of Qualifications: High level of acceptance for Malaysian Diploma in Business Studies qualifications.
  • Direct Entry: Year 2 entry for eligible students, allowing for a 2-year completion of a 3-year honours degree.
  • End-to-End Support: Dedicated student support from the initial application stage to arrival and ground coordination.
  • Global Networking: Opportunities to develop international networks in Ireland, a key gateway to the European market.
